A vision in action
“I will bring back the captives of My people Israel;
they shall build the waste cities and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and drink wine from them;
they shall also make gardens and eat fruit from them.”
Amos 9:14

In essence
“Assaya” is the branch of citizen action of Yeshurun. This is the dynamic proposal of a new system of society. A society inspired by the original vision of Israel regarding the return of the Hebrews to their land that embodies and teaches an art of living based on the respect of Nature, fraternity and the unveiling of our intimate relationship with the Divine. Our action is spreading everywhere in Israel and everyone can come, discover, experiment and adopt all or part of this art of Life… now

Our priority
The social aspect is our main concern, in order to contribute, above all, to the achievement of a society of law and justice for the most deprived. For instance, within Yeshurun we plant abundant organic vegetables and fruit trees in order to offer the recolt to those in need and thus, meet vital necessities of life. That being said, we also teach them how to plant and become self-sufficient in food. Finally we help more by offering them training which will allow them to exercise professional activity in the areas and values that we defend: ecological agriculture, construction of natural dwellings, manufacturing of organic clothing, alternative therapies etc. Therefore, helping one who is hungry to feed himself is our motto.

Within Yeshurun, I was able to learn how to plant my garden, build my house, make my clothes, prepare my natural care, etc. This knowledge propelled me into an essentiality of life that I could never leave.

For a traditionalist Rabin like me, I remain vigilant against movement that I do not know. But Yeshurun having its activities in front of my synagogue, I went there interested. I discovered there what every man of God aspires to discover: Power through action, practicing Torah with all his heart,with all his soul and by all his means.

Yeshurun communities are more than a community to me. It is about a true fraternity founded on values of essentiality; values that can serve as the foundation for a completely different social project.

As a crisis-stricken father, Yeshurun has given me the skills to cut my expenses by more than 70 percent per month, and freed up nearly 50 percent of my work time. I feel so liberated from our consumerist system…

Before, like many of my classmates, school was not always a great passion. I am 10 years old. Since I started taking classes Yeshurun for children, I discovered that learning can only be done in joy.
